She studied modern and contemporary History and Cultural Studies at Leipzig University and Universidade de Lisboa and graduated 2007 with a thesis titled "Productivity and Difference" on antisemitism in the fist German women's movement.

Current Project

In her time in Jerusalem she prepares a German-Israeli cooperation project on the digital documentation and presentation of the German-Jewish Journal Die Kreatur (1926-1930). The journal was edited by Martin Buber, Viktor von Weizsäcker and Joseph Wittig at the Berlin based publishing house Lambert Schneider. The planned project focuses the journal as a case study of an interconfessional intellectual network, the specific semantics of a periodical and as a medium of interaction between different scientific discourses such as humanities, social sciences and natural sciences. Rather than understanding the journal as a "container" this project seeks to explore Die Kreatur in its discursive complexity and as a medium to generate a certain form of cultural knowldege. In the initial research phase in Jerusalem the materials of Martin Buber, Hugo Bergmann and Ernst Simon (both contributors) are of high interest. A workshop in January 2017 will bring together experts from the field of Jewish Studies and Digital Humanities to explore the possibilities for digitally accessing and representing the specific network of this medium.
