Shakked Meromi Cohen is a doctoral fellow at the Rosenzweig Minerva Center. Additionally, she holds a President’s Fellowship from the Mandel School for Advanced Studies in the Humanities at the Hebrew University. Her research focuses on the genre of biblical hermeneutics during the Enlightenment period, with a particular interest in the philosophical possibilities inherent in this genre, as well as its limitations.
In her doctoral project, titled "Moses Mendelssohn’s Biblical Interpretation: Definition and Characterization," she seeks to outline the interpretative approach of the Jewish philosopher Moses Mendelssohn and to characterize his hermeneutic work in terms of its sources, underlying assumptions, and the methods he employed.
