Itamar Manoff, a graduate of the University of Toronto in Jewish Studies and linguistics, is an MA student at Tel Aviv University, at the Unit of Culture Research. He is currently completing his MA thesis, entitled "Semantic Frames in the context of Second Language Pedagogy". Itamar is interested in the connections between language learning, culture and ideology, and is a co-founder of "This is Not an Ulpan", an adult language learning school based on principles of critical pedagogy. Itamar is a member of the Heinrich Mendelssohn archive project at Tel Aviv University, and is especially interested in the ways in which cultural repertoire, habitus, and agency interact in the context of the establishment of the environmental movement in Israel.
