Ori Werdiger is a postdoctoral fellow at the Franz Rosenzweig Minerva Research Center. He studies twentieth-century Jewish thought as embedded within broader intellectual and cultural contexts. His research interests revolve around secular modernity and its challengers, the intersection of philosophy and kabbalah, the sociology of knowledge, and theories of translation and interpretation.
At the Rosenzweig Center Ori’s research considers translation as a central philosophical problem in twentieth-century Jewish thought, with a focus on the Buber-Rosenzweig bible translation project in interwar Germany and approaches to translation in the postwar Paris School of Jewish Thought (École juive de Paris).
